TURKISH ATTACK FROM MESOPOTAMIA RESULTLESS.
TOWN CAPTURED, BUT RETAKEN BY RUSSIANS.
(Received June 18. 5.5 c.m.) PETBOOEAD, JUNE 37. A Russian communique states: "A Turkish offensive from th'i* direction of Bagdad occupied the town of Seripul, 110 miles north-east of Bagdad. We dislodged the attackers and drove them back to their original positions."
Seripul is near the Persian border, and is on one of the lines of the Russian advance on Bagdad, but not the principal.
