CROQUET.
NORTHCOTE CLUB. The annual meeting of the Northcote Croquet Club was held on Friday night. The president, Mrs. A. E. Greenslade, occupied the chair. Tho annual report and balancesheet showed that the club had hud a satisfactory year. Special mention was made of the work of the green superintendent. Mr. J. T. Fearnley. The lawns had I been in a satisfactory playing condition J throughout the season, and were now being I top-dressed. The ground superintendent expressed the belief that the lawns would be equal to the best in Auckland next season. The following officers were elected: Patron, | Mr. J. Marsden Caughey : president. Mrs. J. M. Somerville; vice-presidents, Mesdames J. R. Bethwaite, P. W. Bolland. W. M. Jacks. I and J. L. Leonard: secretary, Mrs. J. T. Fearnley: treasurer. Mrs, A. E. Greenslade; committee. Mesdames F. Hubble. G. E. Adams, W. Laurie, and Miss I. Robertson • green superintendent, Mr. J. T. Fearnleyauditor, Mr. H. G. McCrea; match committee, Mesdames W. M. Jacks. J. T. Fearnley, and G. E. Adams. The annual subscription was fixed at one guinea, and Mrs. Bolland donated a trophy for the member who introduces the most new members nest season.
