BRITAIN'S HUGE BURDEN.
SUPPORTING HER ALLIES. THE DUTY OF FARMERS. (Received June 11, 7 p.m.) London, June 10. Speaking at Lincoln, Lord Selborne, President of the Board of Agriculture, said that " those who alleged that Britain was not making all efforts in the war were deliberately telling an untruth. "With all our blunders," he said, " the nation is making a gigantic contribution towards naval, military, commercial, and financial requirements, such as never before was known in the history of mankind. On the credit supported by our exports, rests the whole power of Russia, France, and Italy to make war.
" Talk about Atlas carrying the world," said Lord Selbome, " we are doing that to-day." He urged farmers to cultivate the land to the utmost. It would be something like treason if they did otherwise-
