BLUEJACKETS' DEPENDANTS. SUGGESTED DOMINION RELIEF FUND. [BY TELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Timartt, Saturday. At a meeting of representatives of local bodies convened by the Mayor, it was decided to try to raise a,sum of £5000 in South Canterbury for the immediate needs of the recently bereaved dependants of ! bluejackets drowned in the North Sea battle. It was also decided to recommend to the Government that the Dominion should provide a sum of £250,000, half by subscription and half by subsidy, for the dependants of the men who have been, or who may be, deprived of breadwinners. SUBSTANTIAL DUNEDIN FUND. SUM OF £5000 IN HAND. [BY TELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION-.] • ,*• Dpnedin, Saturday. A street collection yesterday for dependants of the men lost in the naval battle realised £500. There is over £5000 already in hand locally. OISBORNE FUND OPENED. A relief fund in aid of the dependants of bluejackets who lost their lives in the North Sea battle was opened vesterdav with £127. * * A HAWKE'S BAT GIFT. ! DONATION OF £500. [BY TELEGRAPH.OWN CORRESPONDENT. Wellington, Sunday. The Prime Minister has received a cheque of. £500 from Mrs. Lowry, of Hawke's Bay, towards the fund for the relief of the widows and orphans of the sailors who were lost in the North Sea battla. ,
