Barley: English, 4s 4d to 4s 9d; Cape, 2s lOd to 3s 2d. Oats: Milling, Algerians, 2s 4i to 2s 4£d ; feed, 2s Id to 2s 2±d. Potatoes, £5 15s to £6. Onions, £3 to £3 ss. Hides are in moderate supply and prices are firm. CHRISTCHURCH PRODUCE MARKET. [BY TELEGRAPH. —FSEBS ASSOCIATION.] OfntisTCHT/RCH, Friday. There is no change in the wheat market. Some business is being done with the North Island, and several fines have been purchased to fill orders for this market. There is a limited local demand. Pearl is very scarce and is firmer. Practically nothing is doing in oats. Few potatoes are offering locally, and most business is being done in country districts at £4 to £4 6s, according to railage. It is stated i that the quantity of potatoes in store is only about one-tenth that at this! time host year. Some business is still being done with Sydney. HAMILTON STOCK SALE. GOOD AVERAGE PRICES. The Farmers' Auctioneering Company, Hamilton, report having held their annual sale of sheen and cattle yesterday. A total of 1500 sheep and 1547 cattle, mostly grown bullocks, were yarded. The quality as a whole was excellent. There was a laree attendance of buyers, Feilding, Taihape, Te Puke, Whakatane, King Country, Auckland, and surrounding districts being represented. Bidding was keen throughout, and every line changed hands under the hammer. The best averages made were:—On account of T. Wilson. 152 bullocks, from £13 10s: Eyre Bros., 79 bullocks, £12 8s: Seavill, 35 bullocks. £12; C. Dawson, 86 bullocks. £11 10a; R. Clenhane. 85 three-year steers, £11; Alex. Hill, 93 three-year steers, £11 15s. The following were the ruling prices: —Sheep: Fat ewes, 84s sd: fat wethers, 345; forward four and six-tooth wethers. 27« id to 29s lOd; cull wethers, 18s to 20s 3d; lambs, 15s to 15s 4d: cull lambs, 9s to lis 10d; ewes in lamb, 19s to 20s. Cattle Three and a-half year fat and forward bullocks, £13 to £14 17s; three-year ditto, £11 10s to £13; two and a-half to three year ditto. £9 to £11 ss; two and a-hal£ year ditto, £7 13s to £8 17s 6d; 18-month steers, good £6 5s to £8, ordinary £5 to £5 10s; fat cows and heifers, £10 to £12 ss; fat and forward, £7 5s to £8 16*; fresh-conditioned cows. £6 17s 6d to £8; store cows, £5 to £6 10s: dairy cows, £8 15s to £12 10s; bulls. £8 17s 6d; calves. £1 16a to £3 17b.
KAURI TIMBER COMPANY.
PROPOSED DIVIDEND. Advice has been received from the head office in Melbourne by the Auckland branch of the Kauri Timber Company that, subject to audit, the directors intend to propose the payment of an interim dividend for the half-year at the rate of 8 per cent, per annum. The Union Steam Ship Company declared an interim dividend for the halfyear on preference shares of 2| per cent., and on ordinary shares of 3 per cent.
