McKenna, Chancellor of the Exchequer, said that Australian coins were not legal tender in Britain. .The Government securing the coining profits should confine the circulation to its own area. The fact that the British commercial community profited by the presence of Australian soldiers could not be regarded as an offset against the coinage question.
