YESTERDAY'S RESPONSE. THIRTY-EIGHT ENLIST.. DEFERRED MEN NOW FIT. > Recruiting was again brisk at the city station yesterday, when 38 men enrolled, and 13 recruits who had been deferred at the first examination were accepted for service. Of the new enrolments 11 were accepted, 19 were deferred, and eight were rejected as unfit for active service. Fifty per cent, of the recruits who enrolled during the day were deferred for defective teeth. The percentage of men accepted was low. The special draft of S3 recruits called up, presumably, to make good the wastage during training in the camps, will leave by the midday express to-day. The draft, which will consist of 48 infantry for Trentham and five ambulance orderlies for Awapuni, will parade at the Drill Hall at 9-30 a-m., and after the roS-call the men will be dismissed • until about noon, when they will fall-in again, and march through Queen Street to the railway station.
