FEILDING VALUATION.

DECREASE CAUSES DIFFICULTY

The Feilding Borough is in a peculiar position as the result of revaluation. Th* borough has not been valued for five, years, and during that period new roads have been formed, roads and footpaths improved, and an electric lighting system successfully installed. Yet the new valuation has reduced the value of the borough by £53,000, 13 or 14 per cent, of the total. As the special rates have been based on the old valuation and the new valuation would cause serious financial anbarrassment, it has been decided to send a deputation to place the position before the Valuer-General instead of waiting to raise objections in the ordinary way.
