INCREASES IN ■ NELSON.

Striking evidence of the large increase in land values in some parts of the Nelson Province, owing to extensive areas having been taken up for apple farms, is afforded in the -following extract from the report of the Nelson Diocesan Trust Board, which was recently presented to the General Synod sitting in Christchurch :— " Owing to the growth of the fruit indultry in this district, which has enhanced the value of land, the rent of the 50 acres section held under this trust has increased during the last three years f 159 m £3 'per annum to £25 per annum, the capital value having risen from £8 to £15 per acre."
