LAND FOE SOLDIERS. QUEENSLAND OFFER. Brisbane, April 27. The Queensland Government has written to Sir Rider Haggard, who has come out to report on the conditions under which roldie'rs may be put on the land, offering 1,000,000 acres if the State can raise the money necessary to prepare it for the occupation of ex-service men from the United Kingdom. CONSCRIPTION FAVOURED.
Sydney, April 27. At the annual conference of the Australian Natives' Association the delegates adopted a motion in favour of conscription. A delegate said that the men who had not enlisted were ioafi-ip at the expense of the sweat of other men's brows.
