HOCKEY.

AUCKLAND LADIES' ASSOCIATION* The annual genera/meeting of the Auckland Ladies' Hockey Association was held at the Training College, last evening, Mr. L. H. Norton presiding ever a moderate attendance. The report and balance-sheet, showing the affairs of the association to be in a healthy and satisfactory condition, weio adopted. Correspondence from the Auckland Women's Patriotic League, ■pith reference to gift parcels for tho troops, was received. 11l was decided to _ ask the various clubs to givo the matter their earnest consideration. The election of officers for tho year re< President,, The Mayor, Mr. J. H< Gmison; vice-presidents, Messrs. H. A. E. Milnes, H. G. Cousins and Dr. B. H. B, Milsom; hon, secretary, Miss Gladys Camp* bell (care of Training College); hon. treasurer, Mr. L. H. Norton: executive commit, tee, Misses E. A. Mabbett, B. Protheroe, W. Norden. Messrs. C. Heid and A. Murdoch, and two others to be elected at the next) committee meeting; hon. auditor, Mr. B. H, Parton, A donation of £3 23 was voted to the St. John Ambulance Association in appreciationof services rendered last season. Tho meet- ~ ing closed with a hearty vote of thanks to : Miss C. M. Latimer, the late secretary, and tiie retiring officers. A meeting of _ tho new executive was held on the conclusion of the general meeting, when there were present:— Norden, Mabbett, Protheroe, Campbell, and Mr. L. H. Norton, the last-named being eleoted chairman for the year. Misses Campbell. Mabbett, and Protheroe were appointed a ground committee. it was decided that entries for tho championship competitions, senior and second grades, close with, the hon. secretary on " Monday, May 8, ai 5 p.m. It was reported that five teams would probably enter *ha senior grade,, and a larger number in tho second grade. A letter was received advising that a club had been formed at Dargavillo, and asking if any city clubs would bo able to make & visit this season. It wa3 decided to reply that Dargaville is rather inaccessible fo? ladies' teams, and that the matter must remain in abeyance until later in the season.
