FRENCH PROGRESS BY ATTACKS WITH GRENADES. GERMAN RECONNOITRING PARTIES DISPERSED BY FRENCH / London, April 24. . A French report states:—" West of the Meusc, several enemy reconnaissances were dispersed. South-east of Haucourt and north-east of Caurettes Wood we. progressed with grenades into the enemy communication trenches, taking 30 prisoners, including one officer. The enemy maintained a violent bombardment in the region of Mort Homme. East of the Meusc and in the, Woevre the night was relatively calm. "At Les Eparges. the explosion of a German mine caused no damage. In the forest of Apremont our artillery was active, effectively countering adversary trench engines. In the Vosges we destroyed a small German post towards Bonhomme Pass. "A German reconnaissance which sought to penetrate our lines on the plateau of Pai&sy, north of the Aisne, was repulsed with loss."
