GERMAN AEROPLANE DRIVEN OFF BY GUNS AT DOVER.
MACHINE HURRIES OFF WITHOUT DROPPING BOMBS. D" Telegraph—Presß Association— (Received April 25. 9.35 p.m.) London, April 25. Three Zeppelins visited the eastern counties of England. A few incendiary bombs were dropped. London, April 24. A hostile aeroplane appeared over Dover this morning from the east and circled over the town at a height estimated at 6000 ft. Anti-aircraft guns drove the machine off. No bombs were dropped. The raid caused immense excitement. There were large numbers of holiday-makers in Dover, and they flocked into the streets in thousands, despite the regulations. Gunfire was the first intimation to the people that a Taube was visible, and by the use of glasses the aeroplane could be seen hurrying seaward.
