A r-blegram from Washington states that Count von Bernstoff, the German Ambassador, has intimated to Mr. Robert Lansing, Secretary of State, that tho sinking of vessels by submarines will continue until tho end of the war unless Britain is induced to abandon the blockade.
A telegram from Amsterdam states that tho Dutch Shipping Council has delivered its judgment declaring that two torpedoes hit the Dutch steamer Palcmbang. They were fired without warning. The vessel's nationality was clearly shown.
Tho British steamers Ellaston of 3796 tons and Smeaton of 369 tons and the Italian steamer Unione have been sunk.
