SCHOOL COMMITTEES.
CITY AND SUBURBS.
NOMINATIONS KECEIYED.
Nominations of candidates for election to the city and suburban school committees closed last evening. The elections will take place on Mondy next. In some of the suburban areas there appears to be a lack of interest in the matter, of which Panwll is a case in point. Although nine members constitute a full committee there are only four candidates in this district. As it is impossible even to form a quorum "the matter will have to he referred to the Education Board, for consideration. As the board has the power to appoint representatives the difficulty will probably be overcome in this manner

Campbell, Clark, Lambourne, Lethaby, Swales, and Vivian arc members of the sitting committee. Nine members will require to be elected. Cave. W. J. Holdsworth, W. Peake, and J. "White. This also applies to Mount Albert, and the committee there will comprise Messrs. F. J. H. Ellisdon. C- W. Kayes, E. S. Inwood, J. P. Gamble, C. H. Page. M, Berry. J. W. Butler, and Mesdames E. A Wilson and J. McDonald. Although nine members are required for the Newmarket committee, only five nominations have been received. The nominations for Pamell are Messrs. H. P. Josev, A. V. L'liffe. J. J. Fulton and C. G. Forrelly.
