NEW WAITAIA.
£664 FROM 100 TONS. The New Waitaia Gold Mining Company has crushed 100 tons of ore and treated 70 tons of tailings for a return of 2280z of golu, valued at £664. WAIOTAHI. TRIBUTERS' RETURN. The tributers at the Waiotahi mine, Thames, have treated a further 43 tons from the old battery tip for a return of 240z 4d-wt of bullion, worth £64 8s 7d. GOLDEN BELT. The reef in the slopes at No. 1 level in the Golden Belt mine, _ Nevesville, continues to look well, and is producing good ore. The actual value of the bullion won from the recent crushing of 130 toils of ore was £1083 10s Bd, from the plates only. The manager reports that the tailings from the same crushing are worth £2 19s 6d per too, and that the concentrates produced are rich, OCCIDENTAL. The manager of the Occidental mine, Thames, reports that at No. 6 level, No. 2 reef has now been driven upon for 70ft. The reef in the face continues very favourable in appearance, a little gold being usually seen when breaking down. At No. 5 level the leaders in the hangingwalL of No. 2 reef are still yielding somo good stone, and dabs of geld can be seen in the ore at each breaking down. A little picked stone was obtained last week. The Occidental reef in the stopes shows a little gold. At No. 4 level the drive should pick up No. 2 reef in about 10ft of further driving. FOUR-IN-HAND. In the Four-in-Hand mine, Coromandel, 731b of picked stone were obtained from the drive' at No. 1 level, and from the stopea last week*
