HOSPITAL BOARD MEETING
The monthly meeting of the Thames Hospital and 'Charitable Aid Hoard was held on Wednesday night, .Mr. W. J. MiCormick presiding. Tho report of the house surgeon gave tho number of patients as 26 males and 25 females. 48 mates and 32 females admitted, and 53 mules and 31 females discharged ; 5 deaths had oci arret). Tho report of the health inspector. Mr. Franklin, was of a satisfactory nature, and showed that, although no cases ■'■! infantile paralysis had ucmrred dur.ng the past few weeks strict vigilance was ctill being maintained. A letter was -cad from the Defence Department, pointing out that the Department was not liable for treatment of soldiers whose illness had been brought about by their own action, and that the fullest information as to the circumstances of each case ■would ha required before claims would be passed. The superintendent of the district home* reported that there were at present 18 male and 4 female, inmates^ ■
