BUSINESS DONE YESTERDAY.

The sharemarket opened firm in all sections yesterday, and a moderate amount of business was effected. Bank of New ZeaJands, old and new issues, were in demand at recent rates, but the margin between buyers and sellers remained about the same. New Zealand Insurances, In demand at £6 Is 6d. had sellers at £6 ss. A sale of Waipa Collieries was reported at 18s. Auckland Gas had firm buyers at 295, with sellers asking 6d more. Sales were recorded and reported at 295. A parcel of New Zealand Portland Cements changed hands at 10s.

Waihis showed a tendency to firm. Buyers offered up to 36s 3d, with no sellers under 375. Waihi Grand Junctions showed little variation at 19s 6d, buyers, and 19s 9d, sellers. Talisman Consolidateds were for sale at 16s, but there were no buyers above 14s 9d.
