RATES FOR AUCKLAND.
AGREEMENT ARRIVED AT.
Following are the rates of pay fixed for the Port of Auckland by the new industrial agreement arrived at by the conference of representatives of the Shipowners' Federation and the. Waterside Workers' Federation held in Wellington-:—Steve-dore and general cargo work Is 8d an hour ordinary time, 2s 6d overtime till 10 p.m., 2s 9d overtime between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.; handling coal. Is lid, 2s 6d, 2s 9d; plankman, 2s sd, 3s, 3s 3d; trimming or carrying, 2s sd, 3s, 3s. 3d; repair work, Is Bd, 2s 6d. 2s 9d; handling frozen meat in freezing chambers 2s 4£d, 3s sd, 3s 6d, on wharves or deck Is lid, 2s 6d, 2s 9d, in cool chambers is Bd, 2s 6d, 2s 9d; superphosphates and similar cargoes, in bulk 2s 3d, 2s lid, 5s 3d, in bags is lid, 2s 9d, 3s lid; explosives, Is lid, 2s 9d, 3* Id; kerosene, in oversea ships loaded with oils only, 2s, 2s lOd, 3s Id; kerosene, loaded as part of- general cargo. Is 10d, 2s Bd, 2s lid.
