FRENCH MACHINE BURNED. TRIBUTE FROM THE ENEMY. Paris, January 16. While flying over the (Jerinan lines in a biplane, Lieutenants Sallier and Le Call surprised a tierman machine of the new Looker type. In the course of the light the* German tired an explosive bullet, which struck the petrol tank, enveloping the French machine in flames, and causing the death of the two airmen, after they had torn up their journals and dropped the pieces overboard. The next day (Herman airmen flew over the French trenches and dropped a letter in which a* tribute was paid to the bravery of Lientenants tiallier and Le (.Jail. The letter stated that they had been buried with military honours.
