ATTACK ON SALONIKA NOT IMMINENT.
ALLIES WILL HAVE 350,000 MEN WITHIN A FORTNIGHT.
SMALL DETACHMENT OF GERMANS ON GREEK FRONTIER. (Received January 16. 7 D.m.) London. January 13. It is stated in Athens that the allies will have 350,000 men in Macedonia within a fortnight and 50 aeroplanes. The Salonika correspondent of a Milan newspaper states that the allies continue to strengthen their line, of which the base is Salonika. The allies' fortifications give- an imposing impression. The general opinion is that an enemy attack is not imminent. The 200,000 enemy troops in the district of Doiran and Gieugelu, on the Greek frontier, include only a small detachment of Germans, but Germany has sent abundance of guns. There arc two Turkish divisions in the Xanthi district, but they are badly equipped.
