Constable Henry Ulcere, of Epsom, « ~ presented recently villi an illuminated address, subscribed for by le.-ident.s >>f Takapuna, where ho *< ted as police officer for some years prior to his recent transfer. The speakers for the occasion included Mr. E. W. Alison and Captain Smith, of the Takapuna Civic Guards, both of whom referred in eulogistic terms to the valuable services rendered by the constable to the Takapuna district. The text of the address, which was signed bv the? Mayor of Takapuna, by Mr."Harris M.P., and 30 other prominent citizens,' records appreciation of the firmness, impartiality, watchfulness and courtesy manifested in the performance of the constable's official duties.
