REPORTED NARROW ESCAPE OF THE KAISER.
SUDDEN ENDING TO A ZEPPELIN TRIP. 'Received January 10, 11.15 p.m.) Petrograd, January 9. The Bourse Gazette publishes a story of a narrow escape of the Kaiser during a Zeppelin flight over Warsaw. One of the screws broke, and tore a great hole in the envelope of the Zeppelin, which listed heavily. A parachute was prepared for the Kaiser's use in the event of the machine collapsing. The countryside was roused, and motor patrols hurried out. Everything weighty, including the officers' swords, was jettisoned. The Zeppelin continued to fall till the anchor caught in a tree, and the machine grounded without serious damage. The Kaiser rewarded everyone on board. _■'-.-. .- .-..;„ i ■■:■■_..■ ■, ■, ..■"■ - ■„_.■:■■ -„/,. .-.--... -.'
