ESCAPE FROM CUSTODY.
FOUR WOMEN ARRESTED. TWO SENT TO PRISON. Forr. female inmates of the Salvation Army's Parnell Home, to which two of them had been committed for reformative treatment, escaped on Sunday afternoon. One of them was a girl of 15, who was voluntarily an inmate of the homo, while another was an elderly woman on remand. The escapees made their way to the Domain. The adventure was terminated yesterday by the arrival of the police, who arrested the women. They were brought beforo Mr. E. C. Cutten, S.M., yesterday afternoon. Mabel Nelson and Kileen Casey were charged with escaping from legal custody and were sentenced to three months' im- i prisonment with hard labour and were ordered to be returned to the Parnell | Home at the expiration of that term. The juvenile offender was committed to the Salvation Army Home for 12 months. The fourth accused, a woman named Ivy Hunter, alias Hill, who was charged with being a rogue and a vagabond, elected to be dealt with by the Supreme Court. She was also called up for sentence on a previous charge. This case was adjourned for a wck in order that Mr. F. V. Frazer, S. M., before whom the woman was previously charged, might deal with it.
