BRITISH OFFICER STRUCK.
APOLOGY OFFERED. London, December 10. Mr. Gerrard, American Ambassador to Germany, writes to Sir Edward Grey regarding the Wittenburg camp, stating that a formal and satisfactory apology was given to the British officer whom a guard struck, and instructions were also given that guards were not to strike prisoners. British prisoners were now paid for work done outside the camp. Representations were made protesting against the use of dogs in the internment camp.
