NURSES' ASSOCIATION.
NEW RESIDENTIAL CLUB.
For many months past the Auckland Trained Nurses' Association has been awaiting the completion of its new Residential Club in Mountain Road, Mount Eden, and a large number of members and friends were present at the official opening, which took place on Friday. For some years past, the old Residential Club in Belgium Street has been altogether inadequate to the needs of a growing membership.
The new club is a handsome building of rough cast and brick, erected at a cost of £3000. It occupies a splendid position on rising ground, almost opposite the new Boys' Grammar School, and contains 23 bedrooms, a large diningroom, kitchen, and offices, with a detached laundry and trunk room The interior, electrically lit, is finished in tinted plaster and heart of rimu woodwork. The building ha* fino balconies on three sides. There are many minor conveniences lor ths benefit of the nurses. The building is capable of carrying an extension, should enlargement be necessary later on, but with a membership so depleted by the call for nurses at the front, the accommodation
is ample for all present requirements. The Trained Nurses' Association was formed only seven rears ago, and the first residential club was opened two years later.
