J AUCKLAND SUMMER MEETING. ELLERSLIE TRAINING NOTES. On Saturday morning at Ellerslie nothing of a sensational order was witnessed, though Colonel Soult shaped well in company over a round. Jack Delaval and Mullingar covered the best part of a mile in fair style, and the latter is coming back into favour. Sir Solo was not set a very severe task, while the other cup candidates. El Gallo and Castalia. got through useful work well. Kitty Bellairs sprinted nicely in company with Genevieve, while Tact was given the right class of work to suit her. Lady Jack, with Deeley in the saddle, sprinted a few furlongs in taking style. Laverna and Brookfield were schooled, both shaping well. Hemisphere had the best of Keystone over a sprint distance, while _ several others got through work of minor importance. J. O'SheA, the Auckland horseman, remained at Woodville after the meeting in that township to ride Mr. T. H. Lowry's horses in their work. ACCEPTANCES AND FINAL PAYMENTS Acceptances for the Robinson Handicap. Grafton Hurdles. Nursery Handicap and j Christmas Handicap, together with final payments for the Auckland Cup, Railway Handicap. Shortland Plate. Great Northern Foal Stakes. Great Northern Derby, and Royal Stakes, close on Friday at 9 p.m. - FIRST DAYS HANDICAPS. The receipt of the official copy of Mr. G. Morse's adjustments for minor events to be run on the opening day of the A.R.C. Summer Meeting reveals several inaccuracies in the telegraphic message published on Friday. The impost allotted to Master Regel in the Grafton Hurdle Race is list 4lb. In the Robinson Handicap, Glucian. Tinoreka nnd Colonade are each weighted with 7st 121b: and in the Nursery Handicap Sir Ralph and Nierus have respectively been allotted 7st lib WELLINGTON AND HAWKE'S BAY HORSES. [BY TELEGRAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT. 1 Wellington*. Saturday. Though they were not asked to race, F. Davis had his Ellerslie team on the course on race days at Woodville. and all looked well. This remark applies particulary to Desert Gold, who seems to have a great constitution. The local horseman, Ashlev Reed, has been freely engaged for the Ellerslie meeting He will bo up on Chakwana, Menelaus. and Bertrada J. W. Lowe leaves for Ellerslie on Friday next, and J. H. Prosser will leave on the following Monday with a team of six. It is expected here that Maniaroa. Kooya, and St. Elmn, who figure amongst the first acceptances for the Auckland Cup. will be missing at the next payment- The trio are engaged in the Manawatu Cup run on the same day. F. Davis is still at Woodville with Mr. T. H. Lowry's team. The tracks there are in a good state, and the Hawke's Bay trainer may not therefore leave for Ellerslie until late next week. THE SOUTHERN CONTINGENT. BY TELEGRAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] CHRISTCHCBCH, Saturday. The Canterbury contingent for the Auckland Racing Club's meeting will leave during the next lew days. Murray Aynsley, with Warstep. Snub, and Wardancer, and H. Cutts. with Flying Start, Wise Bird, San Sebastian, end Good Hope, will take their departure on Thursday. I understand that R. o'Donnell will leave on the same day with Mr. G. L. Stead's .Yaldhurrt team, which will probably consist of The Toff, Koeaian, Halina, Mountain Dream, and Wishful. R. J. Mason, .with Xanfhos, j Bimeter and Greonstreet, will probably go north about the same time, but the date i is no' definitely fixed. I
