Canon Hodge, obtained Iroro her a.subscription for "wounded soldiers " and Mrs. Laurie Playfair, of Park Road Regent's Park, related how accused m "Lady Paget," came to see her about a parlourmaid, and made a fuss of the baby whose photo had been in the newspaper. Afterwards a gold purse containing £8 ]{•« in cash disappeared. Pearson, in answer to the magistrate said, I am guilty; I gave mysejf up to the police at Scotland Yard."
