WANTED TO FIGHT.
HARROW BOYS' LEAD TO SLACKERS. Animated by a burning desire to fight for their conntry, two Harrow boys ran away from school and enlisted. They are Robert Peel, son of Sir Robert Peel, of Drayton Manor, Tamworth. Staffs, and Ronald Macfarlane, and both arc 17. Determined to enlist, they discarded their school clothing, went to London, and the same night wrote to Mr. Kemp, their housemaster, expressing regret at any inconvenience that might result from their sudden departure from school to join the army. The college authorities gave the police a description of the missing lads and notices were sent to recruiting authorities.' A Brighton recruiting officer communicated with the school, and .from subsequent inquiries it was found that both lads had passed through his hands had been duly attested, and were that day being cent to a, camp not many miles from London. One of the Harrow masters ac companied by a solicitor acting on behalf of i u U " 4 Robert Peel, had several Inten&X with the War Office, and finally the authorities consented to the discharge of the two boys. 6 v
