PAPAL DELEGATE.
PROPOSED RECEPTION. A meeting of the genera committee appointed to arrange a reception for His Excellency the Right Rev. Bonaventure Cerretti, Archbishop of Corinth, and Papal delegate to Australasia, who will pay Auckland a visit in February nextt, was fccld in the Hibernian Hall last night. Monsignor Brodie, Bishop-elect of Christchurch, presided,-and there were present: The Very Rev. Father Cahill, Chancellor flolbrook, and Fathers Tormey, Murphy, Forde, and Jansen. There was a large gathering of ladies and gentlemen from the city and suburban parishes. Fourteen names were added to the Executive Committee, which was appointed to arrange the details of the reception. An address committee was chosen, composed of Miss M J. Mcllhono, the Hon. J. A. Tote, Mr. M. J. Sheeban, and Mr. F. O J Temin. A resolution was passed requesting Bishop Cleary to circularise each parish in the diocese, asking them 'to assist in the finances of the proposed reception. A children's committee was also appointed, comprising the teachers of the Catholic schools, and Misses A. V. Lorrigau and Mcllhone, and Messrs. A. J. Woodlev, J. Fitzgerald, and P. Dromgool. Various sub-committees will be elected at. a meeting to be held in about a fortnight's time. Before the business proceedings were commenced last night the Hon. J. A. Tole toot the opportunity to congratulate Montfsmor Brodie on his elevation to the Bishopric of Ghristchurcb.
