RECRUITING CAMPAIGN.
-«&- THE UNITY PLATFORM. {BY TU.EGBAPH.— COKBESPOKDEXT. ] MiSTEKTON', Thursday. A Bepkesestatttb meeting of citizen* presided over by the Mayor, passed a resolution endorsing the unity platform, and wishing Mr. Robinson Godspeed prior to his undertaking a recruiting campaign. # Mr. Robinson said his object was to aculeate "unity of all classes in the face of the enemy." He had framed the following resolution to submit to public meetings to be addressee by him :—" That New Zealand should sat an example of unity to the Empire by organising to the full her capital and man-power for the war; that this meeting requests that Parliament be convened for that purpose, and undertakes to absolutely support the National Government in whatever steps it decides to take towards victory." He snggested that the National Government could allay the nation's unrest in regard, to pension! Mr. C J P. Skerrett's scheme should be adopted. There was a danger of the funds being reduced to a local and municipal level.
