DOUBLE TRAGEDY.

m VERDICT AT INQUEST. DEATH BY POISONING. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. Melbourne, December 9. At the adjourned inquest concerning the death of Albert Edward Greenwood and Miss Williams, the verdict was that poison was administered by Greenwood, with the intention to murder himself and Miss Williams. The bodies of a young man and woman, afterwards identified as those of Albert Edward Greenwood, and Miss Williams, were discovered on October 22 in a bedroom at Whitehall Chambers, where they had been resident some weeks. They were not seen for some days, and an'odour emanating from the room Jed to the forcing of the door. A peculiar feature was that the woman was badly decomposed having apparently been dead a week, while the man had been dead only a couple of days. A glass at the bedside contained dregs of poison. They registered a Mr. and Mrs. Harvey. Greenwood was an Englishman recently employed at the State Audit Office in Perth. He left, saying he had a better position on the goldfield. He was talented but eccentric, and addicted to drugs. The woman was employed in the same office.
