MALAYAN EFFORTS.

GIFT OF AEROPLANES.

BATTLESHIP OUT OF REVENUE Sydney, December 9. A visitor from the Malay States says that of a population of 8000 Europeans, 600 have gone to the front. The whiteß, natives, and Chinese are at present organising a campaign for funds to enable the States to present an air fleet of 15 units to Great Britain. The campaign was organised by Mr. C. Alma Baker, a New Zealander. Sufficient money to provide for ten units has already been supplied. The natives and the Chinese are very loyal, and have subscribed largely to the funds. Although the demands made by war conditions have been heavy there is no national debt. The Dreadnought, costing 2$ millions, recently presented to Britain, was paid for out of revenue.
