Nathan conferred at Trentham with the camp commandant* Colonel Potter, in regard to Cbristau» dinner for the soldiers. The reaou- ~* the consultation is that about 6000 men are to have lamb, with green peas and ne* potatoes, as well as other delicacies. Th» meal is to begin at 6 p.m. on December 23 at Trentham and May Morn. The great majority, about 2200, of tie eleventh reinforcements will have Christmas dinner at May Morn, and 3600 men at TrtntnwnThe need for the feast will be about 350 lambs, 60001b of new potatoes, aoj quantity of green peas and materials such as dried fruits for puddings, lettoce. tomatoes for salads, cigarettes, cigars, and other comforts, of which a list will b» given soon. " General leave" is the order for Christmas Day. The Town Hall will b« available for the men, and there lunch will be provided. The tables will be kep* well stocked throughout the day. For the Christmas dinner at the camps, tables in the Trentham hutments, of n-hich there are 67, will be allotted to groups of ladies, and a similar arrangement will be mad* at May Morn, to which tables will be sent. The camps will not be open to th* public on the evening of December 23.
