MUTINOUS STUDENTS.

m SHANGHAI OUTBREAK. CAPTUBE OF A CRUISER. By Telegraph— Association Copyright. (Received December 9. 1-30 a-m.) Shanghai, December 8. The origin of the mutiny at Shanghai was that 30 young revolutionaries, some formerly naval students, boarded the Chinese cruiser Chao-Ho at dusk, and received permission to inspect the vessel. They suddenly drew revolvers, seized the commander, secured the key to the magazine, and overawed the crew, killing four and wounding five. They then ordered the gunners to fire on the arsenal. The gunners elevated the guns and, unfortunately, hit the foreign settlement. The two effective warships in the harbour refrained from firing on the Chao-Ho, but the shore batteries opened fire and despatched boarding parties, which, however, returned. Three well-placed shots at daybreak absorbed the oozing courage of the revolutionaries, who escaped in a launch. The Japanese Government) has sent several warships to Shanghai.
