British transports have landed the remainder of five allied divisions at Salonika, it is believed that 100,000 Servians have escaped into Albania, and it is stated that recruits will bring this number op to a=qoarter of a million. A trench submarine has been sunk by an Austrian flotilla on ban Giovanni di Medua, a small Albanian seaport 17 miles southeast of Scutari. The Austrians claim that several ships discharging war material at the same point were sunk. Three Bulgarian students have been shot for complicity in a plot to kill King Ferdinand. A spirit of revolt is remarked in Bulgaria, and it is said the Bulgarians do not consider themselves called on to fight the British or French. < There are unsatisfactory reports as to Roumania's intentions, based on the activity of pro-Germans and the reported moving of troops to the Russian frontier. A German newspaper states that the allies have com* menced a new offensive at the Dardanelles, which the Turks regard as a bluff. It is unofficially reported that the British have captured or sunk 58 submarines, and have probably destroyed 20 others. The submarine hunt in the Mediterranean has yielded excellent results. The allies have taken steps likely to close the sea to enemy submarines. A German concentration is taking place on the wester* front, and an attempt at a conp*de=mafn is expected*
