WAIHI GRAND JUNCTION. £16,016 FROM 10,010 TONS. ~ TOTAL TO DATE £1,210,520. During the period ended November 27 the Waihi Grand Junction Gold Company treated 10,010 tons of ore for a return of Bullion valued at £16,016 5s 6d. Compared the return for the corresponding period last year, when 10,000 tons yielded £17,500, the present figures show a decrease of £1484. The total amount of bullion won from the mine to date is £1,210.520 16s 3d, as shown in the following table of details :— - »- d. The crosscut, at 490 ft (North branch reef) has been driven in upon the reef 20ft. The present width is 2ft 6in, carrying high grade ore. The crosscut at 570 ft (North branch reef) has been driven in -upon the reef 15ft. The average width is 3ft Bin, valued at £7 7s 9d per ton. No. 8 winze has been sunk to a depth of 48ft. The present width is 3ft lOin, valued at* £2 19s 7d per ton. No. 10 winze has been Mink to a depth of 50ft. The present width is 18ft, not yet assayed. No. 7 Level, Empire Footwall Lode: No. 6 winze has been sunk to a depth of 37ft. The average width is 3ft lOin, valued at £4 lis per ten." OCCIDENTAL CONSOLIDATED. The manager of the Occidental Consolidated mine, Thames, reports thai} the ore being broken in tho slopes on the Occidental reef continues to show good dabs of gold, and a few pieces of picked stone were obtained last week. No. 5 level is now out 90ft from the shaft. The reef in the face is small, but looks very favourable, and some good dabs of gold were •■ seen in the ore broken. The shaft is down i 140 ft from No. 4 level, and a chamber is being cut oat for No. 6 level. A little water is making in the bottom of the shaft.
