GERMAN REPULSE EAST OF MITAU.

FUTILE ATTACKS ON ROAD TO DVINSK. Wellington, October 17. The High Commissioner reports from London under date 17th inst. : " The Germans crossed the Ekau east of Mitau, where they were thrown back. Their attacks on the Illonksh Road, towards Dvinsk, were futile. There was an obstinate battle near Lakes Duenner and Drisviaty. A Zeppelin bombed the town of Minsk."
