AEGEAN COAST OF BULGARIA UNDER BLOCKADE.

RUSSIA TO COMMENCE HOSTILITIES IMMEDIATELY.

(Received October 17. 3.20 p.m.)

London, October 16.

Great Britain has declared war on Bulgaria.

A blockade has been declared of the Bulgarian coast on the iEgean Sea. Forty-eight hours' grace is allowed neutral vessels to leave.

A message from New York states that an allied squardon is now blockading the iEgean coast of Bulgaria.

It is expected that hostilities between Russia and Bulgaria will immediately follow a manifesto from, the Tsar denouncing King Ferdinand for siding with the Austrians and Germans, enemies 'of the Slav race. It is officially announced that Servia has declared war on Bulgaria. The newspaper Giornale d'ltalia says that Italy will not send troops to the Balkans, but will continue pressure on Austria, which, it is considered, will be equally helpful.

French newspapers express satisfaction at the agreement existing between the allies upon their action in the Balkans.
