PRISONERS OF WAR.
MONEY FOR THEIR RELIEF DESPATCH TO TURKEY. Wellington, October 15. The Prime Minister has received the following cable from the High Commissioner, dated London, October 13:— " The Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs stated in the House of Commons that every effort is being made to obtain lists of prisoners of war captured at the Dardanelles. Through the United States Ambassador, Turkey has been warned that till its obligations have been fulfilled in this respect no more lists of Turkish prisoners .of war will be furnished. . Arrangements can be made for sums of money to be forwarded by the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs to the United States Ambassador at Constantinople, from which to give such relief as he may consider necessary to New Zealand troops." Arrangements have been made by the New Zealand Government to forward by telegraph to the High Commissioner the sum of £500, with instructions that it should be transmitted through the United States Ambassador to Constantinople, to give such relief as he may consider necessary to New Zealand troops who are prisoners of war at Constantinople.
