" ANZAO" TEAROOM.

PREPARING FOR OPENING. Good progress ia being made at the " Anzac' tearoom, over Everybody's Picture Theatre, in preparation for the opening to-morrow afternoon. Although all furnishings and hangings have been donated, a good scheme of colour is being maintained, green and brown being the prevailing tones. A strong committee of Civic League workers has been devoting all its time to preparation for the opening, and a thorough canvass of local firms is being carried out with great success It is anticipated that strong support will be given by the residents of country districts in the way of donations of butter, eggs, and garden produce, it being the intention of the league to have a flower and produce stall in connection with the tearoom. In order to make widely known the aims and requirements of the tearooms. Major Lusk, of the Farmers' Union, has forwarded circulars to some 3000 members requesting their co-opera-tion, and ♦'■"» as«i«t?>nre of the residents will be of great value in main* twining supplies of i>roduce. flowers, etc. Members and friends of the league are guaranteeing supplies of home-made goods, and all are entering into the scheme with enthusiasm. The " Soldiers " Queen candidate will be credited with the amount of the proceeds of the tearoom during the carnival months.
