GENERAL WAR PICTURES.
I To-day's issue of the Auckland Weekly j News contains a large number of interesting photographs. A feature of the publication 'is the fine series . of pictures of scenes by the wayside as New Zealand's seventh reinforcement draft marched from the Tauherenikau camp, over the Rimutakas, to the camp at Trentham. The series comprises two unique photographs of night scenes at Kaitoke, showing the soldiers sleeping in the open. Photographs are given of the various halts by the way, the pictures being very animated. An excellent photograph of the second Maori contingent on parade is included in the number. The fitting up and ' general equipment; of the R.M.S. Marama as New Zealand's second hospital ship is now engaging attention, and a good picture of the vessel appears in this issue. The roll of honour contains the portraits of 217 heroes who have fallen while upholding the honour of New Zealand at the Dardanelles. No doubt many will be keenly interested in the page devoted to the portraits of the Maori heroes who played a conspicuous part in the campaign. The number also contains war pictures from the Dardanelles and from the other war theatres, besides several subjects of current interest.
