ATTEMPTED ARSON.
OUTRAGE AT HUNTLY. MINERS' HALL OX FIRE. [BT TBXEGB-U , H.-^-OWN p CO3RESPOXDEXT.] HtrxTLT. Monday. As attempt was made about ten o'clock on Sunday night to set fire to the Miners' Hall, in Extended Street, Huntly. Entry was effected at the back by forcing one of the windows, and the inside of the rear wall had been well saturated with kerosene. Fortunately, the presence of smoke was detected in time by the lessee of the hall, and little trouble was experienced in putting out the fire. The damage done was not great. The matter is in the hands of the police.
