BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT.
A SUCCESSFUL GATHERING
The annual "tournament of the Auckland Basketball Association was brought to a rucoessful conclusion on Saturday, when the adult handicap matches and the semi-finals and finals of the school matches were played. Much interest was taken in the games, ana at times the play created considerable excitement among tile spectators. The tournament was well organised and managed. The dinners were:— handicap matches: Senior grade. Kiwi B: intermediate grace. .Normal A? junior grade, Victoria Maori Girls. School matches: A grade. Edendale; B grade, Belmont. At the conclusion of the tournament the prizes won during the past season and at the tournament were presented to the winners by Mrs. Garrard. Mr. H. A. E. Millies, principal ot the Auckla id Training College, spoke of the excellent effect the came had on the characters of school girls, and expressed the opinion that •t was of decided physical benefit to the players.
