TOTAL NEARLY £35,000.
Contributions amounting to £34,997 12s have now accumulated since the new appeal was made 10 days ago for funds for the assistance of sick and wounded soldiers and their dependants. The sections have a combined frontage oL 78ft, and are valued at between £3 10s and £4 per foot.
A subscription list in aid of tihe fund was opened on the West End Bowling Club's' green on Saturday afternoon. The sum of £140 was subscribed, and it is anticipated that this amount will be considerably extended.
