RAID ON STUTTGART.

DAMAGE TO BARRACKS.

MANY SOLDIERS KILLED.

Beene, September 24.

The bombs dropped by allied airmen on Stuttgart, the capital of the kingdom of Wurtemburg, 135 miles north-west of Munich, did considerable damage. Two barracks were hit and were materially damaged. Many soldiers were killed or wounded.

The Stuttgart Council has passed a resolution protesting against raids on undefended cities. Members of the council declared that an enemy who attacked harmless citizens was fighting a lost cause.
