CABINET, KING, AND PEOPLE UNITED.
RELIEF FELT THAT THE CRISIS HAS TOME.
GREEKS WILL FIGHT WITH VALOUR AND DETERMINATION
London, September 25
The Athens correspondent of the London Daily Chronicle says that Thursday was full of excitement, various rumours increasing the popular interest in the developments, but none expected a momentous decision. Special editions of the newspapers rushed into the streets in the forenoon confirmed the report that Bulgaria was mobilising practically her entire manhood. The serious nature of the news was realised, and excitement was at fever heat in the crowded cafes at mid-day.
The Premier, M. Venizelos, immediately summoned the Cabinet, which decided that it was necessary for Greece to take similar action. M. Venizelos in the afternoon motored to the palace, and informed King Constantine of the Cabinet's unanimous decision. King Constantine expressed complete agreement. The Minister for War, in full uniform, also visited King Constantine. His passage through the streets gave the crowds the first impression of immediate mobilisation.
Greece does not desire war. and will not be the aggressor, but if Bulgarian ambitions force a war the Greeks will fight with valour and determination unsurpassed in the nation's history. There is a feeling of relief at something definite being done after long uncertainty. The King. Cabinet, and people are united, and are fully aware of the tremendous issue.
It is reliably reported that Germany forced Bulgaria's hand in the matter # of her mobilisation.
