SKIRL OF THE PIPES.
During some recent minor fighting on th« ! Ypres-Menin road there occurred an incident which is well worth mention. The' Germans, in a surprise attack, actually reached our trenches, which at this point were held by Highlanders. Severe hand-to-hand fighting ensued, during which the enemy was driven back. Suddenly there; was heard the wild music of the pipWi and -with a loud yell the Highlanders: sprang from their positions and rushed upon th« Germans before they could regiia their tranches. 'i-J!
