NOTES AND .COMMENTS.

A few matches will be played at Remuera to-day. including one between the Pukekobe representatives and Areta. in, which play will commence at 3.15 pan. This is by way of a return match, the Areta team having visited „I ukekohe earlier in the season. The primary school representatives will play the primary school old boys at 3.15 p.m.. and the school B representatives ana Technical College will contest' a game arranged to commence at 2 p.m. It is probable that the Patriotic Sports Committee which has been set up to look after the sports queen in connection wit a the huge carnival now being organised in aid of the Wounded Soldiers' Fund will ask the Auckland Hockey Association to hold a function at an early date. It is now very late for winter sport, the clubs having dis banded for the year, but hockey players, who have already done well in connection with one carnival this year, will no doubt overcome all difficulties and rally again for the purpose of a final charity tournament or sports of some kind. LADIES' NOTES. -The Auckland representative team, which visited Thames last week-end. reports a thoroughly enjoyable trip. The visitors were successful by 3 gouls to I. Congratulations to Wha'katu. the junior champions for the year. The defeat of Omapere last Saturday by 5 goals to 2 was certainly decisive, and the winners roust be acknowledged the better team. Omapere. vunners-up. have played consistently for some years, occupying prominent places on the ladder on each occasion, but have not been fortunate enough to win the championship. Last year the team won the Bernecker Challenge Cup, which it will defend next Saturday against the winner of to-day's tournament.
