ROYAL N.Z. YACHT SQUADRON.

The following nominations have been received for officers and committee of the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron :—Commodore. Mr. J 1, R. Bloomfield: vice-com-modore Mr. E. Mr. J -„ Alexander; general committee, Messrs. C. P. Murdoch, R. S. Reynolds. A. Burt, T. Alexander, .1. prater, A. E Gilford. T. Le Huctuet. E. Davis. A. A. Brook and R. Philson. The annual meeting will be held next Thursday evening. NORTH SHORE CLUB. _ The annual meeting of the North Shore Yacht Club was presided over by Mr. W. A Wilkinson, commodore. The attendance was well up to expectations. The annual report stated that the club had experienced a successful season. Over 50 races' had been held, and 300 entries were receivedThe prizes were valued at £160. and numbered 101. The club had lost 68 members who had gone to the front or were now in training.

The balance-sheet showed that the receipts for the year amounted to £107 5s 2d, and tho expenditure to £101 10s 3d. The receipts included £45 7a 6d from subscriptions, and £44 83 from entrance fees. The principal items of expenditure were £28 15s for cash prizes, and £14 19s for trophies. There was a credit balance of £36 Is 4d in the bank. The assets were valued at £42 8a lOd. and there were no liabilities. Commenting on the report and balancesheet, which was adopted, the commodore said the club had every reason to feel proud of its position, -which was very satisfactory. The past bad'been a strenuous year, and although the war had now been going on for over 12 months, the committee had been able to carry on the affairs of the club without cutting down the prize list or curtailing the races. It was pleasing to learn that the club had a credit balance of £36 odd, which showed careful management on the pari, of the hon. secretary. Mr. H. Hill, and hon. treasurer, Mr. J. Sykes. He would also like to draw attention to the fact that so far 68 members of the club had joined the colours: some had already given their lives, and others had been invalided homo.
